Mud Island Park is located at the confluence of the Mississippi River and the Wolf River in Memphis, Tennessee. As a new entertainment and educational venue, its design concept has attracted public attention. Muddy Island was a sandbank formed between 1900 and 13 years ago. The appearance of the water surface in 1913 threatened the closure of the port. People had wanted to get rid of it, such as digging or bombing, but also counted on the annual flood to wash it out, but the effect was not great. In 1923, people began to study how to use it for the first time. However, it is difficult to solve the problem of flood control. It is necessary to fill the island’s ground to a safe height above the flood peak and it is extremely costly. Therefore, permanent buildings cannot be built.
