金刚石钻进具有效率高、质量好、节约钢材和劳动强度低等显著优点。但是由于目前金刚石钻头定价较贵，每米进尺材料成本有时高于钢粒钻进，这就成为进一步推广金刚石钻探的思想障碍。为此，我们对莲花山矿区使用金刚石钻进情况进行了调查。莲花山矿区是脉状铜矿床，主要岩石有闪长玢岩、花岗斑岩和安山岩。岩石致密，研磨性较强，岩石硬度平均八到九级。一九七○年开始钻探，先是使用钢粒钻进，中间有两年下马，一九七六年陆续采用金刚石钻进，到一九七九年全队推广。截至七九年七月
Diamond drilling has the advantages of high efficiency, good quality, saving steel and low labor intensity. However, due to the current pricing of diamond drill bit is expensive, material cost per meter footage is sometimes higher than steel grain drilling, which has become the ideological obstacles to further promote diamond drilling.
