杜若一药,明代已近失传,当今《中药大辞典》也未收载。1975年中国科学院北京植物研究所在其主编的《中国高等植物图鉴(第五册)》中把鸭趾草科植物竹叶莲的中文学名定为“杜若”;《辞海》1979年版“杜若”条指为竹叶莲,以致1986年天津科技版《实用千金方选按》中也注杜若为竹叶莲。更有甚者认为杜若就是杜蘅(见中国农书丛刊畜牧兽医之部《串雅兽医方》第11、18页,农业出版社1982年版)。我们认为,上述都是不恰当的,杜若不是竹叶莲。查《神农本草经》卷一,上品中载:“杜若:味辛,微温。主胸胁下逆气,温中,风入脑户,头肿痛,多涕泪出。久服益精明目轻身。一名杜衡。生川泽。”从这里我们知道杜若有一个别名叫杜衡,其生 If a drug, Duo, was lost in the Ming Dynasty, it is not included in the Dictionary of Chinese Medicine. From here we know that Duo has an alias called Du Heng.
