湿地松生长快、干形直、抗松毛虫,是当前极需发展的重要树种之一,但种源不足。为此,广东省林业科学研究所在1963—1964年,选用湿地松优势木作接穗,以马尾松作砧木,按髓心接触形成法进行嫁接试验。结果表明,湿地松与马尾松嫁接的亲和力相当强,3—9月份嫁接都能成活,特别是7—8月份,采用瓶接的成活率达61.5—89.5%。嫁接后,接穗生长迅速,例如,1964年3月26日用7年生湿地松接穗
