蜂窝电话采用无线方式通信,使用户可以在室外及旅途中进行电话联系。目前,蜂窝电话已被商业界广泛应用。 移动通信设备,如汽车电话和便携电话分为两类,一类用于广区无线系统,一类用于多单元小区系统。广区系统要求一个覆盖广大地区的移动基站。多单元小区系统利用一个比广区系统小的基站覆盖较小的地区。因为广区系统只使用一个基站就能覆盖广大的地区,因此这种系统的优点是系统建造成本较低。
Cellular phones communicate wirelessly, allowing users to make phone calls outdoors and on the go. At present, cellular phones have been widely used by the business community. Mobile communication devices, such as car phones and portable phones, fall into two categories, one for wide-area wireless systems and one for multi-cell systems. The wide area system requires a mobile base station covering a wide area. The multi-cell cell system uses a smaller base station to cover a smaller area than a wide area system. Since a wide area system can use only one base station to cover a large area, the advantage of such a system is that the system construction cost is low.
