Blood Circulation
A teacher was giving a lesson on blood circulation. Trying to make the matter clearer， he said， “Now， students， if I stood on my head， the blood would run into it， and I should turn red in the face.”
“Yes， sir，” a boy said. “Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn’t run into my feet？”
Another student shouted， “it’s because your feet aren’t empty.”
血液循环
有位老师正在上血液循环的课。为了解释得更清楚，他说，“同学们，如果我现在倒立，血液就会跑到头里去，我的脸就会变红。”
“那么，老师，”一个男生问道，“为什么我们用平常的姿势倒立时，血液不会跑到脚里去？”
另一个学生大声说道，“那是因为你的脚不是空的。”
A Gift for a Birthday
A fellow was very much in love with a beautiful girl. One day she told him that the next day was her birthday. He told her he would send her a bouquet of roses... one for each year of her life.
That evening he called local florist and ordered twenty-one roses with instructions that they should be delivered first thing the next morning.
As the florist was preparing the order， he decided that since the young man was such a good customer， he would put an extra dozen roses in the bouquet.
The fellow never did find out what made the young girl so angry with him.
生日礼物
一个小伙深爱着一个漂亮的女孩。一天，女孩说第二天是她的生日。他告诉女孩他会送她一篮子玫瑰，每一朵玫瑰都代表一岁。
当晚，他打电话给的当地的一个花店，预订了21朵玫瑰，并叮嘱第二天一大早把花送到。
当花匠按单准备时，他想既然年轻人是个好主顾，他便往花篮里额外多放了12朵玫瑰。
女孩再也不理他了，而那个年轻人至今也想不通是为什么。
Letter of Recommendation
When Peter learned that he was being fired， he went to see the head of human resources. “Since I’ve been with the firm for long，” he said， “I think I deserve a letter of recommendation.” The human resources director agreed and said he’d have the letter the next day.
The following morning， Peter found his letter on the desk. It read， “Peter’s worked for our company for 11 years. When he left us， we were very satisfied.”
推荐信
彼 得知道自己要被解雇，就去找人士部门经理。“由于我在这个公司工作已经很长时间了，”他说，“我想我应该得到封推荐信。”人事部经理同意了，答应他第二天他就可以拿到推荐信。
第二天早上，彼得在自己的办公桌上见到了这封推荐信，上面写道：“彼得在我们公司工作了11年，他离开时我们都很满意。”
He Called Back
When Brian showed up at work with both ears bandaged， he was asked what happened. “I was watching TV and my wife was ironing nearby，” he explained. “She left for a moment， and the phone rang. I grabbed for it and put the hot iron to my ear instead.”
“But what happened to the other ear？”
“Wouldn’t you know？ No sooner had I hung up than the guy called back.”
他打回来了
当布莱恩出现在办公室时，他的两个耳朵都缠着绷带，大家就问他发生了什么事。“当时我在看电视，而我老婆在旁边熨衣服。”他解释说。“她离开了一会儿，电话只好响了。我急着要拿电话，却错把热熨斗放到耳朵上。”
“那另一只耳朵怎么样了？”
“你们不知道吗？我刚挂断，那个家伙又打回来了。”
