The 19th century of his life is a crucial stage in the development of German nationalism. His nationalist ideology is the key link in the evolution of German nationalism. The article sorts out Fichte’s nationalism thoughts in all stages, and focuses on discussing it from the two dimensions of individualism and collectivism in order to provide a new perspective on German cultural nationalism and expand the field of German nationalism research.
