9,10-Anthraquinone forms a series of molecular complexes with NO and NO 2,which are stable in solid state or in organic solutions at room temperature and will decompose to original anthraquinone and NO/NO 2 upon heating.The molecular complexes are formed via charge transfer,which is confirmed by a high-resolution mass spectroscopy.By means of reduction,the complexes can be converted to anthrahydroquinone.The mechanism of formation is investigated herein.
9,10-Anthraquinone forms a series of molecular complexes with NO and NO 2, which are stable in solid state or in organic solutions at room temperature and will decompose to original anthraquinone and NO / NO 2 upon heating. The molecular complexes are formed via charge transfer, which is confirmed by a high-resolution mass spectroscopy. By means of reduction, the complexes can be converted to anthrahydroquinone. The mechanism of formation is located herein.
