著名地质、地震地质学家、中国第四纪研究委员会委员徐煜坚教授因病于1992年3月23日在北京逝世。徐煜坚教授1913年4月4日生于广东省中山县。1934年考入清华大学地学系。由于抗日战争,滞留北京,从葛利普教授学习。1939年复学于昆明西南联合大学地学系,1940年6月毕业。随后,作为李四光教授的助手,在前中央研究院地质研究所从事构造 Well-known geology, earthquake geologist, China Quaternary Research Committee Professor Xu Yujian died of illness in Beijing on March 23, 1992.
