Poplar is a temperate fast growing tree species. In nature, poplar was first grown on flood alluvial soil in the Great Valley. It is one of the pioneer tree species of wetland habitat in the succession of primary succession. After long-term natural selection and adaptation to the environment, poplar trees, interspecific and intraspecific clones have inevitably great differences in adaptability to water.
