人物画与山水画、花鸟画在形象语言方面的最大区别在于,人物画的形象语言具有直接性。山水“借景抒情”,花鸟“以物喻意”,人物则通过形象来直接表情达意。这要求人物画在造型上的把握更为准确、更为丰富,从而达到所谓的“形神兼备”。中国的绘画从来讲求形象语言的准确性。谢赫六法之一就有“应物象形”之说。画不能没有形,没有形就不成画。以形象来表情达意,说的是形不准则意不达、情不明,所以准确的形象语言是绘画的必备条件。但是,只有形似是不够的,形似不是绘画
