Toll-like receptor (TLR) family members trigger an immune response by identifying specific pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). TLR recognizes the specific PAMP of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and then activates the signal transduction pathway, activates NF-κB, increases the expression of cytokines and inflammatory cytokines and plays an antiviral role. RSV can evade the host's immune defense response by inhibiting TLR cell signal transduction pathway. This review summarizes the research progress of the role of TLR in RSV infection.
