Since its establishment in 1932 in Japan, the puppet Manchukuo has not been recognized by the vast majority of countries in the world. By 1943 there were only 23 countries that recognized and established diplomatic relations with the Puppet Manchukuo, most of whom were the Axis Powers and their puppet regimes and the occupying powers of the Axis Powers. The Soviet Union, as the first socialist country in the world, has ambiguous attitude towards this. In order to strengthen domestic construction and prevent any involvement in the war, the Soviet Union, in spite of the ethnic feelings of the Chinese people, in fact recognized the puppet Manchukuo in 1932 and made a shameless move to please Japan. In 1933, the Soviet Union violated China’s sovereignty by transferring the Middle East Railway to the puppet Manchukuo under Japanese control. Later, in order to avoid the two-line operation and to gain the recognition of Japan under its control, the Soviet Union signed the “Soviet-Japanese Neutrality Treaty” with Japan and formally declared its recognition of the puppet Manchuria state internationally. The Soviet act is an unwarranted interference in China’s internal affairs and sovereignty and is an extreme manifestation of its great-power chauvinism and national egoism.
