Wa and other myths and legends, as well as the process of constantly replenishing, revising and adding content, both oral and written, are all artifacts created by the Wa people and are an integral part of the Wa community and symbolism. Identity building plays an important role. Examining the rational logic behind these historical memories can reveal the close relationship between ethnic identity and resources of the Wa ethnic group. The principle of survival contained in “Ganggangli” and folk myths and legends provided the Wa with the rationality and legitimacy of national identity and national identity.
