This paper is a joint research work done by Japanese author Matsuo and Department of Civil Engineering, Nagoya University. It was published at the 14th Japan Society of Roads and returned home afterward and has been further developed. The overview of the research is as follows: Reference for this research work. Based on the concept of “the infiltration of rainfall into slope, the decrease of soil strength index, the increase of soil self-weight and the increase of pore water pressure → destruction”, a stochastic model of rainfall damage in natural slope is proposed. When the actual slope stability is estimated, the rate of change of the probability of destruction with time is calculated based on rainfall as a parameter, and compared with the critical value of this rate of change, the slope stability during rainfall can be reported in time . The specific value of the critical rate of change is determined by the survey data from Japan. The natural conditions in our country are different and need to be further developed in application.
