Social participation of the elderly, commonly known as “old for ”. The four groups of guests have portrayed the reality and development of “old things, promising things” from different angles. As a pioneer of gerontology in our country, Professor Wu Cangping elaborated for us along the historical thread that “doing something for all” is not only an effective way for the elderly to realize their own self-worth, but also an objective demand of our country to actively cope with the aging of the population. In the discussion of Mr. Wu, we should especially see that the idea and practice of “old-for-nothing” has long existed and is a dynamic and developmental concept.
