The United States Puri Automotive Research Corporation successfully developed the world’s first large horsepower plastic engine, after a long run, confirmed its performance to meet the design requirements. This engine can deliver 320 horsepower at 9,500 rpm. Engine capacity of 2 liters, four-cylinder, weight 168 pounds, 200 pounds lighter than the traditional type of metal engine. The material structure of the engine is: 60 pounds of resin, reinforced graphite fiber 40 pounds, 68 pounds of metal. Due to the significantly reduced weight of the engine parts, the engine’s inertial load is reduced by 60% compared to steel parts, allowing greater output at high speeds.
