In the business world there is a very famous story: a boss sends two clerks to inspect the footwear market somewhere in Africa. After coming back, the first employee reported with frustration that there was no market there because no one was wearing shoes at all; the second staff report was optimistic that the market was good because no one had shoes to wear. As a result, the latter received awards for promotion. The same findings are very different, the fundamental reason lies in the attitude they adopted in the study of the market: the former holds a negative attitude, the latter holds a positive attitude.
