Several recent studies suggest that HLA-DQ may determine the susceptibility of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). TAP2 (a transporter associated with antigen processing 2) gene, located between HLA-DP and DQ, is a member of the ABC transporter supergene family whose complex with TAP1 is involved in the transport of endogenous peptides to the endoplasmic reticulum for MHC class I antigen presentation required. TAP1 and TAP2 genes are polymorphic (especially TAP2 is significant), may be SLE disease susceptibility genes. The digestion of TAP2 (the isoleucine or valine at position 379 of the amino acid sequence was detected by ARMS-PCR,
