There have been many reports on the isolation of non-A, non-B hepatitis B (NANB) virus and related antigen-antibody systems after transfusion. However, most of them failed to receive the unanimous acknowledgment of everyone and people quickly forgot to do so. The authors successfully isolated from non-A, non-Hepatitis B infected chimpanzee plasma, a meaningful virus, are reported as follows: Materials and Methods: Materials NANB (from NANB patient serum NIH-F strain) Infected chimpanzees (3 cases) with chronic phase plasma (500 ml each) were concentrated about 1000-fold and finally purified by centrifugation with sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The control group, a noninfected chimpanzee plasma, was treated with the interphase method. Results: Observed by electron microscopy using a negative staining method, a clear membrane-like globular virus particle (37-64 nm in diameter) was found in each fraction with a sucrose density of 1.14-1.48 g / ml (peak = 1.16). Morphologically, this virus is similar to the toga virus. In addition in the liver cells
