8.5 Example of Cooling Ability Adjustment at Plastic Corner If the cooling rates vary from one point to another, the cooling times will vary. Therefore shrinkage and residual stress are also different. Plastic parts cured under different pressures, of which the shrinkage of the later part of the cure is inhibited. In particular, the corners of plastic parts have high cooling rates on the outer side and low cooling rates on the inner side because of their different surface areas.
