二戴《礼记》的编者、编纂的目的、篇章来源、师弟授受等问题,笔者同意主流意见,认为:由于《仪礼》一书偏重士礼,内容不完整,不足以满足当时阶级社会的需求,因此后仓用“推士礼而致于天子”的办法以求弥补,而其弟子戴德、戴圣则编纂二书,作为讲授《仪礼》的补充教材。至于篇章的来源,则撷取自当时能见到的与礼有关的篇章,包括《礼》古经、各种“记”及若干子书。本文要辩驳的,是与主流意见相违的异说,包括三项:第一,小戴《礼记》的篇章取自大戴。第二,二戴《礼记》的编者不是戴德、戴圣。第三,二戴《礼记》的编纂是为了建构“治国道术的礼学论述档案柜”。
