FLIP (FLICE) is a type of apoptosis-suppressing protein with death effector domain (DED) found in recent years. It is widespread in many species such as viruses, eukaryotes and mammals. FLIP has many similarities in structure and sequence with Caspase 8, and inhibits the binding of Caspase 8 to death-inducing signaling complex (DISC), thereby blocking Fas-mediated apoptotic signal transduction. Therefore, FLIP and inflammatory, tumor and autoimmune diseases are closely related to the occurrence and development. Further research on FLIP will help to deepen our understanding of these diseases and provide new methods and ideas for clinical treatment of these diseases
