Objective To investigate the correlation between aerobic exercise on the gene mutation of 99,960,609 (FTOrs) genes and exercise-induced weight loss. Methods Totally 204 male aged overweight subjects were tested for their FTOrs9939609 genetic variation. Twenty TT genotypes and 20 TA + AA genotypes (including 4 AA genotypes and 16 TA genotypes) were selected for the study. 18 w walking training were measured body weight, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-hip ratio (WHR), body fat percentage, fat weight and muscle mass. Results The waist circumference, WHR, body fat percentage and fat weight of TA + AA genotype subjects were significantly higher than those of TT genotype subjects before and after exercise, while the muscle TT genotype was significantly higher than that of TA + AA genotype Body weight, BMI and hip circumference were not significantly different (P> 0.05). In the same genotype, aerobic exercise significantly reduced weight, BMI, waist circumference, WHR, body fat percentage and fat weight, while hip circumference and muscle weight There was no significant difference between before and after exercise (P> 0.05). The differences of BMI, waist circumference, WHR, body fat percentage and fat weight of TA + AA genotype before and after exercise were significantly higher than those before and after TT genotype exercise, Hip and muscle weight before and after the difference was not significantly different (P> 0.05). Conclusion Walk walking has obvious effect on improving body composition of both TT and TA + AA overweight male elders, but the effect on individuals with A allele is more significant.
