玉米育种中需要探讨的问题很多,这里讲三个方面的问题,与代表同志们共同讨论。一、对玉米育种工作的估计自六十年代以来,我国玉米自交系间杂交种逐步推广,至1979年全国种植面积达2亿亩,约占玉米播种面积的70%,对粮食增产起了显著作用。据1976年不完全统计,全国推广面积达百万亩以上的杂交种有27个,其中双交种13个,三交种1个,单交种13个,除2个为国外引进外,余均为自育杂交种。这25个自育杂交种除两个亲本未查明外,其他23个的亲本自交系共47个,其中国外系18个,国内自育系29个,占总数的61.7%,有9个杂交种全用自育系组成。反映出我国在玉米杂种优势的研究利用方面取得了可喜的进展和成就。
