The hero, created by Fitzgerald, always reflects his own life experience and the American society and history, and therefore has obvious commonalities in some aspects. The two protagonists, Stalwart and Gatsby (respectively from the “Love of the Last Mogul” and “The Great Gatsby”, respectively) performed most clearly in this respect and had a marked continuation of their image. At the same time, Stal’s image of Gatsby’s continuation also reflects the author’s life and creative changes. The thesis intends to explore the character image modeled by Fitzgerald from several aspects such as the character, status of the protagonist, as well as the symbolic and emotional sustenance, and attempts to explain the difference between the two characters and the continuation of the image contact.
