The display of seismic complex characteristics is very helpful for us to determine the thin layer on the seismic section. Assuming that the wavelet in the seismic section is zero-phase, then those low impedance formations that are about half the thickness of the main reflection peak-to-peak period will behave as unusually high amplitude bands over the transient amplitude profile. These anomalies are caused by the well-known amplitude tuning effect. This tuning effect occurs when the reflection coefficient with opposite polarities and a half period difference from each other is convoluted with seismic wavelet. The local thinning to the equivalent of a strong reflection period
