熵同质量、密度、体积、温度和压力等物理量一样,是物质系统的一种属性。只不过后者较具体直观,而熵,则较抽象,甚至有些“面目森严”。然而,由于“熵”能深刻揭示事物存在和变化的某些本质,因此早在半个世纪以前,就被应用到物理学以外的其他学科领域。时至今日,熵的概念又与信息的概念紧密联系在一起。因此,在信息开发时代中,作为档案工作者,应当了解档案熵,并注意研究档案熵在档案管理和档案保护中的应用。
Entropy is a property of the material system, like physical quantities such as mass, density, volume, temperature and pressure. However, the latter is more specific and intuitive, while entropy is more abstract, and even some “sounded.” However, since “entropy” can profoundly reveal certain essences of the existence and the change of things, it was applied to other disciplines besides physics half a century ago. Today, the concept of entropy is closely linked with the concept of information. Therefore, in the era of information development, as archivists, we should understand the entropy of archives, and pay attention to the application of archival entropy in archives management and archives protection.
