《新英格兰医学杂志》发表的一项新研究指出,罹患最常见形式的早期白血病 患者如果在接受治疗后存活10年而没有复发,则应该被视为治愈。急性成淋巴细 胞性白血病曾经被认为是无法治愈的,但是现在,有80％以上的病人至少可以存 活5年。不过,这些人仍然存在着复发血癌的危险性,会发展成为其他的肿瘤或者 其他并发症,使得医生无法确切地使用“治愈”一词。
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine states that patients with the most common form of early leukemia should be considered cured if they survive 10 years without recurrence after treatment. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia was once considered incurable, but now, more than 80% of patients can survive for at least 5 years. However, these people still have the risk of recurrent blood cancers that develop into other oncological or other complications that prevent the doctor from using the word “cure.”
