It is very difficult to determine the sample containing more than two components which can interfere their quantitative analysis each other. The common method sometimes were limited because of waste of time and consumption of the expensive organic solvents. Our experiment dealt with the quantitative analysis of caffeine in the blood poisoned by tablet of Naoqing using the two-wavelength method on the first derivative spectra, which was proved to be easy and accurate. The linearity, at 282 nm and 254 nm, between the different concentrations of caffeine and their values of first derivative is satisfactory, r=0.9999. The average recovery of caffeine in blood was 99.2±0.33% (α=0.05),CV%=0.27). Using this method the one of the component in the blood poisoned by any compound tablets can be determined qauntitatively without separation.
