R5 grade mooring chain steel is a kind of material with high requirement for welding technology. To ensure the mechanical properties of mooring chain products pass, a lot of experiments were carried out to study the flash welding parameters. The results show that the amount of firing, the amount of forging, the welding speed and the secondary load voltage are important parameters that affect the quality of the welded joint.
