组里的果园是学大寨时种的。那年冬天,一想起几年后满山的果香,一想起就要来临的好日子,傻旦就激动得心「嘣嘣」急跳。凭着那股对好日子的向往,他顾不得老瘪着的肚子和病着的身子,一头扎进了大战荒山的人群,白天黑夜地干。他挖的树窑又多又大又深。工地的大喇叭就天天夸他。有一天,他终于支撑不住,一头扎进了挖好的树窑,头被坑边的镐头挂了寸把长的口子。有汩汩的血,工地的大喇叭表扬他的声音就更响了。哥儿们却一个个说他是傻蛋,他虽然不言不语,心里却看不起这些一贫嘴、奸滑,只知道讨便宜的人。
