Clayford Oditsz’s masterpiece, Wake Up Singing, tells the story of the life of poor, middle-class families, with the suicide of his father, Jacopo, and Ralf’s ending. Twenty years later, Arthur Miller wrote the famous “Death of a Salesman,” a play that described the story of the Little Man Loman family within a day. Similar to the former, the play also ends with Willie Loman’s suicide. Combined with the background of the two dramas, we find that the design of suicidal outcome of Jacobi and Willie Loman have their common causes and necessity.
