40年来,在中国共产党领导下,由于广大探矿人员自始至终贯彻执行了“独立自主、自力更生、艰苦奋斗、勤俭建国”的方针,使探矿工程走过了一条从无到有、从小到大、从弱到强的曲折道路,以突飞猛进的速度向前发展,主要表现在:探矿工程已形成一门独立的技术科学,并且是一门新兴的边缘学科,有其自身的基础理论。由于它的工作对象是地球外壳(地壳)的岩石,类别很多,重迭错落,千变万化。因此,其基础理论研究“聚焦于”岩石破碎机理与岩石力学、钻进中功率消耗值、钻柱力学(含断裂力学)、胶体化学与冲洗液理论、最优化工程理论。并以其理论成果指导实践。
