新加坡华文文学和马来西亚华文文学(简称新马华文文学)作为发生在中国文学境外的华文文学现象,有着自身的发展历史和独特的内涵与风貌,它反映和记录了马来西亚华人以及新加坡华人百年来的生存状态与精神追求。但不可否认的是,新马华文文学与中国文学和文化有着很深的渊源关系。新马华文文学是在中国“五四”新文学的直接影响下产生的。抗日战争时期,强烈的民族危机感以及由此产生的民族文化认同感,使新马华文文学的发展出现了繁荣,加上中国作家相继南来,与本地华文作家共同推进了新文学的发展。战后十余年间,随着反殖反帝、争取独立斗争的蓬勃开展,整个东南亚华文文学进入黄金时代,而新马华文文学作为其先锋,创作中的国家意识和本土意识明
As a phenomenon of Chinese literature that occurs in Chinese literature outside Singapore, Chinese literature in Singapore and Malaysian Chinese literature (hereinafter referred to as “Chinese Malaya”) have their own development history and unique connotation and style.
