OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of EZSCAN in patients with type 2 diabetes through a comparative study. METHODS: Sixty-four patients with long-term central medical examination who had been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for 2 to 3 years but without complications and had a fasting glucose> 7.0 mmol / L were enrolled. Fifty-six healthy subjects were screened and their fasting blood glucose was lower than 6.11 mmol / L, and regular exercise, no immediate family members have diabetes. The 120 people were surveyed, physical examination, fasting blood glucose and EZSCAN measurements. Results: ESC (Electrochemical Sweat Conductivity) decreased significantly (37.5 ± 20.4), (48.6 ± 19.2), (46.3 ± 18.5) and (39.0 ± 20.1) μSi in the hands and feet of healthy people (58.6 ± 17.2), (75.2 ± 13.9), (86.8 ± 7.9) and (71.2 ± 10.2) μSi respectively, P <0.0001. The electrochemical sweat conductivity of hands and feet of diabetic patients was significantly lower than that of healthy people, with sensitivity and specificity of 78.1% and 100%, respectively. Conclusion: EZSCAN is highly sensitive and sensitive for rapid, non-invasive assessment of sweat gland function in diabetic patients by electrochemical skin conductance measurements.
