Background: In view of the extinction of the wild jellyfish Snow Lotus, the Academy of Military Medical Sciences has established a method for artificially cultivating the jellyfish jellyfish. Objective: To investigate the lipid-regulating effects of Saussurea sagittifolia cell culture on hyperlipidemic rats. Design: Completely random design, controlled experimental study. Unit: Coordinated by the Department of Cardiology, General Hospital of PLA, and the Institute of Bioengineering, Academy of Military Medical Sciences. MATERIALS: The experiment was performed at the Medical Experimental Animal Center of PLA General Hospital from March 2003 to March 2003. Experimental animals were provided by the Experimental Animal Center of the PLA General Hospital. 64 male SD rats, weighing 200-220 g, were randomly divided into 4 groups with 16 rats in each group: normal control group, high-fat model group, high-dose group, and low-dose group. Intervention: normal control group fed only basal diet, high-fat model group fed high-fat diet, high-dose group fed high-fat diet while feeding jellyfish Saussurea cell culture 500mg/Kg, while low-dose group fed high-fat diet while feeding Jellyfish Saussurea Cell Culture 50 mg/Kg. The administration was performed once/d, blood was collected after 3 weeks, and blood lipid levels and liver and kidney function were measured. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Differences in blood lipid levels and changes in liver and kidney function among the groups. Results: The levels of cholesterol, triacylglycerol and LDL in the high-dose group were lower than those in the high-fat model group (2.66±0.51) mmol/L, (3.23±0.57) mmol/L, P=0.030; (1.59±0.77) Mmol/L, (2.48±0.83) mmol/L, P=0.023; (1.68±0.31) mmol/L, (2.07±0.43) mmol/L, P=0.032犦. The high-dose lipoprotein level in the high-dose group was higher than that in the high-fat model group (0.98±0.29) mmol/L, (0.66±0.37) mmol/L, P=0.045犦. There was no significant difference in liver and kidney function between groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The jellyfish Saussurea cell culture pair
