Objective: To investigate the effect of vitamin D on improving pancreatic β-cell function and glycemic control in diabetic patients, and to evaluate the efficacy of vitamin D in the treatment of diabetes. Methods: From January 2011 to December 2011, 98 patients diagnosed with diabetes in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups. 49 patients in the treatment group were treated with vitamin D and 49 patients in the control group were treated with oral hypoglycemic agents. After the same treatment cycle, respectively, the two groups of patients with pancreatic β-cell function indicators and blood glucose levels were detected. Results: Compared with the control group, the function of pancreatic β-cells in the treatment group was significantly improved. Two groups of patients before and after treatment 2h after breakfast blood glucose levels were not significantly different. Conclusion: Vitamin D has a positive effect on controlling the natural development of diabetes and preventing the complications of diabetes.
