棉被是我们日常最常用的御寒寝具。人们用棉布做成被罩然后填充棉花,能起到很好的保温效果。即使是最新的鸭绒被、鹅绒被、蚕丝被,它们里面的填充物虽然不同,但保温原理与棉被没什么两样。我们如果穿越回秦汉、隋唐,就会发现温暖的棉被并不存在,我们只能在瑟瑟寒风中寻找其他的保暖寝具,因为棉花在中国普及要迟至宋末元初。那么中国古人此前盖什么样的被子御寒呢?首先,我们要理解在古人眼中什么是“被子”。从先秦到北宋以前,中国人理解的“被子”就是可以披在身上
