Objective: To definethecourseof changestakenbyα 1 andβadrenergicreceptors (AR) activityaftertraumatic braininjury (TBI) andexploretheapproachforsecondarybraininjury (SBI) management. Methods: Theneuronalmem-braneproteinof cortexwereextractedfromtheratssubjectto traumaticbraininjury, andthechangesofα 1 -andβ-ARac-tivitiesintheneuronalmembraneswereexaminedby radioligandbindingassay (RLBA) .Results: α 1 -andβ-ARactivities underwent epithelium prior to24h afterTBI.alpha.-ARbindingdensity (Bmax) reducedby22.6% while athelixandaffinity increased by66.7%, andforβ-AR, however, B max increasedby116.9% and theligandaffinityre-ducedby50.7% .Theirantagonistscouldcountethechangesofalpha-andbeta- ARactivity.Con clu sion: The Patterns of Changes Varies Between α 1 -and β-AR activity after TBI, suggesting these multiple receptors in vitro human bambranes after braintrauma, and timely administration of ARantagonists administered potential benefits in TB Management.
