Objective: To investigate the effects of gangliosides (GM1) on the neurobehavioral development in neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). Methods: Sixty-eight newborns with HIE were randomly divided into 35 cases in GM1 group and 33 cases in routine treatment group. Two groups of children were tested for neuropsychiatric exercise development (DQ) at 3 months of age and 6 months of age respectively. Results: The DQ values of 3-month-old and 6-month-old children with HIE in GM1 treatment group were significantly higher than those in routine treatment group (P <0.05). The incidence of dysplasia in GM1 treatment group was lower than that of routine treatment group (P <0.05). Conclusion: GM1 can improve the neurobehavioral development of neonatal HIE and reduce the incidence of developmental dysfunction in children with HIE.
