中国西南少数民族的形象经常性地被强势话语所主导,而少数民族妇女的身体形象更成为此改变的重要表征。少数民族的他者形象大多由女性代表,并将女性表现为带有落后乡村特色却又青春盎然的融合体。身着各色传统服饰的少数民族妇女经常成为各种艺术、文学和现代传媒争相表现的主题。在这种情境中,妇女形象作为少数民族的标志承担着多重涵义。少数民族妇女形象变成了区别族群的依据,成为与现代性相对照的各种传统性的标志,并通过相应的手段建构了少数民族民间文化与政治权力之间的互动关系。
The image of ethnic minorities in southwestern China is often dominated by strong discourses, while the physical image of ethnic minority women has become an important indicator of this change. The images of the minorities are mostly represented by women and show women as a fusion of youthful and backward rural characteristics. Ethnic women in traditional costumes often become the subject of competing manifestations of the arts, literature and modern media. In this context, the image of women as a sign of ethnic minorities has multiple meanings. Ethnic minority women became the basis for distinguishing ethnic groups and becoming the traditional symbols of each other in contrast with modernity. By means of corresponding measures, the inter-relationship between folk culture and political power of ethnic minorities was constructed.
