美国独立民谣歌手及作曲家Justin Vernon曾于高中及大学期间成立Mount Vernon和Deyarmond Edison两个独立摇滚乐团，但两个乐团解散后成立的新乐团Bon Iver才是他迄今为止最受人瞩目的成就。很多人以为Bon Iver就是Justin Vernon的艺名，其实不然，这只是一个团名（取自于法文Bon Hiver的谐音，意为美好的冬天），目前此乐团还有Mike Noyce和Sean Carey两名团员。2008年，乐团在唱片公司Jagjaguwar的帮助下推出首张专辑For Emma， Forever Ago，获得各界好评。2009年，乐团发行专辑Blood Bank。Bon Iver的歌常常以插曲的形式出现在各种电视剧以及电影中，这使得乐团的知名度越来越高，并于2012年不负众望地斩获了最新战绩——第54届格莱美最佳新人奖。
