The Atlantic accounts for about a quarter of the world’s marine area. According to Moisheyev’s analysis in 1975, the potential average fish production in the Atlantic Ocean was 350 kgf / km2. This greatly exceeds the average of similar indicators in the world (230 kg), the Pacific (245 kg) and the Indian Ocean (80 kg). By the mid-1950s, the Atlantic provided humankind with more than 50% of the annual catch of the world’s marine life. Between 37% and 45% between 1960 and 1974, some declines in the world’s catch in the Atlantic occurred between 1975 and 1982, from 41.9% to 36%. Pre-war period (1938), the Atlantic caught 930
