美国只经二、三百年的高速发展便成为世界上年轻而又富有影响的国家。本文概略叙述美国从殖民地的建立、发展到独立之后的一段时间成为世界强国的历史，扼要阐明美利坚民族的融合过程，评说美国历史坎坷不平的发展道路及其多元文化的特点。
After only two or three centuries of rapid development, the United States has become the youngest and most influential nation in the world. This article gives a brief account of the history of the United States becoming a world power from the founding and development of the colonial period to the time when it was independent. It outlines the integration process of the American nation and comments on the rough development path of the United States and its multicultural characteristics.
