“书如其人”是传统书论中的一个重要思想,其产生原因一方面是由书法自身的性质和历史所决定的,另一方面则是缘于古代的文化环境。书法是书写汉字和文本的艺术,书法不但具有视觉性还具有知识性、写意性,即刘熙载所言“如其学,如其才,如其志”。因此文字和文本成为“书如其人”思想的逻辑支点。目前,书法的实用性缺失,书法与文字学、文学逐渐脱离联系,导致“书如其人”思想在创作和理论批评上面临困境。 “Book as the people ” is an important thought in traditional book theory.
