Cerebrovascular disease not only affects the patient’s own quality of life, but also a serious “stress factor” to relatives, which often have a huge impact on the caregiver’s physical and mental health. In this study, we used the depression scale (SDS) to investigate the psychosocial status of the main family members of 163 patients and found that 7.88% were physically and mentally challenged, and the SDS scores were higher. According to the gender and the relationship with the different patients, cross-comparison, found that the family members of the depression was significantly higher than men, while the spouses and daughters were significantly higher than their sons. The findings of this paper show that people with cerebrovascular disease often have mental and physical disabilities. In order to improve the overall quality of rehabilitation of patients with cerebrovascular disease, the intervention target should be extended to the primary caregiver and the family as a whole.
