The behavior of the powder microelectrode was investigated in a completely irreversible electrode reaction system (oxygen and thionyl chloride reduction). Microporous electrode models can be used to interpret the measured results. Powder microelectrode technology can be used extensively to study the electrocatalytic behavior of various powder catalysts and to make highly sensitive and responsive miniature electrochemical sensors.
