China has extremely rich fossil resources. They include the oldest known animals, such as the 570-million-year-old Precambrian embryos found in Guizhou and the early primate of 40 million years ago, as well as many other recently important The discovery. For decades, Chinese geologists have marked the fossil-bearing formations in their territory on the map and have determined their years to facilitate the exploitation of China’s abundant energy and mineral resources. This work has also had a huge impact on fossils because these fossils can help solve many problems about the evolution of life. Some issues, such as the origin of vertebrates and the nature of extinction (extinction at the end of the Permian period), have begun to be elucidated.
