本研究将Toastmasters俱乐部会议模式应用于高校英语口语教学,首先分析了Toastmasters会议模式的二语习得理论基础,接着设置了符合高校口语教学的实施形式,然后针对某工程大学281名研究生学员进行了试用,最后得到了学生非常积极的反馈。口语测试、问卷调查和访谈结果表明,Toastmasters会议模式可以用于高校英语口语教学,而且能有效提高学生的英语能力、公众演讲能力和社交能力,并产生良好的情感影响。
This study applies the Toastmasters club conference model to college oral English teaching. Firstly, it analyzes the theoretical basis of Second Language Acquisition in Toastmasters Conference Mode, and then sets up the implementation form that accords with the oral teaching in colleges and universities. Then it conducts a systematic study on 281 postgraduate students in an engineering university Trial, and finally got the students very positive feedback. The results of oral tests, questionnaires and interviews show that the Toastmasters conference model can be used for oral English teaching in colleges and universities, and can effectively improve students’ English proficiency, public speaking ability and social skills and have good emotional impact.
